Fitting In: How far would you take it?

When you arrive at school in the morning, there are many things that could be running through your brain. Did you finish your biology homework? When is that book report due? Did you remember money for lunch? Unfortunately, there are some other things that can cross your mind. Does my outfit look cool? How’s my hair? What is Allison going to yell at me for today?

Fitting in. What does it seem so important to students these days? Girls want to wear the right clothes, do their hair the right way, and be mean to certain people. Boys want to be stronger, better in sports, and get more girls. They are concerned with things that should not matter.

School is about learning and preparing yourself for the future outside of school. Girls-how you look, what you wear, and who you hang out with should be the least of your worries. Boys- how much you bench press should definitely not be of as much concern as your grades.

Surround yourself only with the ones who life you higher. Be with people that love you for who you are, not for the clothes you wear. You want to be remembered for how you helped others and made the school a better place, not for being a snob.
