Friendship

Isn’t it funny how when you ask a person about what they don’t like about school and they give you a long list of things ranging from homework to certain teachers? When you ask them what they do like, it is almost always the same answer: Friends. Friends are a big part of high school or any place you go. Without friends, there is no one to occupy your time with.
Friends are a major stress reliever for almost all people. When things get tough, a good friend to talk to usually lightens the mood and reduces stress. Especially in high school, the stress level is outrageous; it is good things when a friend can just pick up your spirit.
I know that the reason I come to school is to get away from my family and come hang out with my friends. When I go home it is all about work, school and applying for different colleges and financial aid to help me with college. School helps me get away from the stress and I am able to vent to my friends and they never judge me for anything that I say. If I did not have my friends, I would go crazy. When I wasn’t allowed to leave my house during the snow days that affected me a lot because it was all stressful and a negative environment. I was even excited to go to work Friday night just to get out of my house and it immediately reduced my stress level.
Next year when college comes around I know that I will be ok because I am rooming with my good friend from another school and Sarah Seymour. So I know that I will be able to vent and not be very homesick.
So, if you are ever feeling stressed about school, work or family, take a break go hang out with a friend. It is a proven study that even older people need to have friends to stay sane. Just remember to keep your friends close because they are not valued enough. They need to stop being taken for granted, and you need to appreciate the fact that you have someone there that can talk to you whenever you are down.
