Big CAT rules redefined for consistency

Many People think the C.A.T rules got stricter this year. When in reality they have always been there but are just being enforced more.

Only two things that has really changed. One is the fact that you must have a pass from a teacher before you are allowed to go to their class room. The other new rule was that you must return to your assigned C.A.T. class five minutes before the bell rings.

The reason they are enforcing the rules this year is because of seniors last year that would leave during C.A.T. and not show up for the next their class. Obviously leaving school was prohibited, and you can thank them for the fact that is why we have a few more rules this year.

The new rule about having a pass when you go to see a teacher is a little bogus for Big C.A.T’S but it was the administration’s decision. They thought that this would help teachers keep their classrooms under control and limit the amount of people that enter the room. If a teacher has too many students they can just not sign the pass and no one else can enter their room.

I think that the new rules have pros and cons. The pros would be that there would be more security about who leaves and who comes in. Another one would be that teachers would know where students are at all times, whether in the cyclone room, a teacher’s room, or printing something off for another teacher in the library or in another classroom.

The cons include the fact that if a student has no time to get a pass then they cannot leave to go get help. Also if they need to go turn something in to a teacher at the last minute they cannot do it because they have no pass even though they are a big C.A.T.

I thought that while you were a Big C.A.T students got to do things that would benefit themselves, but the class of 2009 ruined that for the Big C.A.T’s to come. The school administration and school board shouldn’t compare us to the years before.
