Summer is just around the corner and the sun is shining its hottest and brightest down on your vulnerable skin. Constantly being outside and exposed to the elements can cause serious damage to your skin and you should protect it as much as possible. Getting that sexy summer tan is usually every persons goal during the hot days of summer; however getting that temporary tan can give you skin damage for your lifetime. Being aware of how much sun is too much sun is vital to keeping your skin healthy and happy this summer.
Wearing sunscreen to protect your skin is an important part of your summer routine. Even though you are eager to hit the beach, pool, lake or just the outdoors in general, always remember to take time to apply sunscreen. It may seem like a hassle at the time but your skin will thank you later.
Skin cancer is the most common form of human cancer. It is estimated that more than 1 million new cases occur annually. The annual rates of all forms of skin cancer are increasing each year, representing a growing public concern. It has also been estimated that nearly half of all Americans who live to age 65 will develop skin cancer at least once.
Applying sunscreen with the correct SPF for your skin is very important. Just because you have a darker shade of skin a fairer person does not mean that you do not need sunscreen. Your skin is still susceptible to damage from the sun. If you are unaware of the possible damage that the sun can do to your skin you really need to wake up and smell the sunscreen. Lather up! It is better to be safe than sorry. If you want that sun kissed look spray tans and self tanners are always a safer way to get that summer glow. Also, wear hats and sunglasses to protect your face and eyes from the harmful rays. If you follow these steps you can be worry free and enjoy the summer without getting burnt to a crisp.
