Under My Umbrella

You may or may not have noticed the umbrellas that are hanging from the ceilings in a few teachers classrooms. If you have noticed the unusual addition to these classrooms then a question that probably went through your mind is “Why in the world is there an umbrella hanging from the ceiling?”
It is not just for fun and decoration. There is a good cause behind it. The district for FCCLA has adopted Children’s Miracle Network as a National Program to help raise money. FCCLA is competing with other schools in the district to see which school can raise the most money between now and November 4th.
FCCLA is giving an opportunity to make a difference. Any participating teacher can hang an umbrella from their room. A few teachers that have the umbrellas in their room are Mrs. Miller, Ms. M. Gray, Mrs. Jenkins, Mrs. Coen, Mr. Broyles, Ms. Bolton. Mrs. Hofmeier, and the Library. So if you happen to see one, go ahead and drop some spare change in. For more information you can check out the blog titled Umbrella Project.

Tayler:
Is this a new fundraiser or is this the same one that took place last fall and ended in October/November? If it is a new one, let me know and I’ll break out the umbrella again!
